This is my second summer assignment, "dishwasher". I took a break from the monochromatic color scheme. I used painted newspaper for the background and then using a paint pen and sharpie pen I used experimented with typography to create detail on the "dish". I used cardboard to make the rim of the dish and then used encaustic wax to create drips that are supposed to resemble water splashing. I think this piece is missing something but I don't know what... suggestions??(again not the best picture sorry)

This is my first summer prompt, an architectural structure.
I made an acrylic background and then used drawing pencils to draw an alley way from observation. Not my favorite piece but drawing is not my forte. Sorry about the picture quality, I'm uploading from the beach :)

Encaustic with Resin

This might be my favorite piece i've done this year. I started out like my other encaustic pieces by creating a collage using colors to match my dried flowers. Then i added th flowers, string, and pastel. The new method i tried with this piece was table top resin. I really like how this piece turned out and i think the resin gives it a finished look.

Elegance

This piece is done in encuastic and it is titled "elegance". I used a collectable shoe that i took a picture of as the focal point. However, i like my pieces with dried flowers better. I wasn't sure how to finish this piece so i added string and the word elegance. I will probably come back to this piece at some point.

Orchid

This is another encaustic project titled "orchid". I chose an achromatic color scheme to try something new. I think this color scheme makes the piece look kind of dark, but it's different. I like the levels i used and i think i might use that idea again.

RWB

Again these are research workbook pages. I like these pages because of the monochromatic and achromatic color schemes. I also like the ribbon and buttons i used

RWB

These are also pages in my research workbook. I used water color and simple designs. I also added a few words to make them look more complete.
